Therapursuit exists to make quality psychological care accessible to every Australian, wherever you are. Before we begin, here is exactly what you are signing up for, written plainly and without fine print. In short: we keep your information private and secure, we claim Medicare on your behalf, all sessions are via phone or video, we may record sessions for clinical purposes, and we use secure AI tools to support note-taking. You can ask questions or raise concerns at any time.
The full detail of each of these points is set out below.
1. Privacy & Your Personal Information
Therapursuit (ABN: 22 630 192 899) collects and securely stores your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This includes:
• Personal information: Name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number
• Sensitive health information: Medical history, GP referrals (Mental Health Treatment Plans), Medicare details, and information relevant to your mental health and wellbeing
• Technical data: IP address and browser information collected via cookies to support website functionality
Your information is stored using encrypted, secure electronic practice management systems that comply with Australian health record standards. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
Your information may only be shared in the following circumstances:
• With your treating psychologist to facilitate your care
• With your referring GP or psychiatrist as required by Medicare reporting standards
• With trusted third-party IT service providers who operate under strict confidentiality obligations
• Where we are legally required to do so, such as by court subpoena
• Where there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or another identifiable person, in which case we may be legally required to disclose information to emergency services or relevant authorities
• Where mandatory reporting obligations apply under the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld) or equivalent legislation, we may be required to disclose information without your consent

2. Medicare, Fees & Billing
Therapursuit provides psychology services that may be eligible for Medicare rebates under a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP. Depending on your clinician and session type, services are provided under one of two billing arrangements:
• Bulk billing means Medicare pays Therapursuit directly and there is no cost to you
• Gap billing means you pay the session fee upfront and we then claim the Medicare rebate on your behalf, with the rebate paid directly back to you
Please note that cancellation and non-attendance fees may apply under either arrangement.
I authorise Therapursuit to claim Medicare on my behalf for eligible services. I understand that my billing arrangement will be either bulk bill or gap bill depending on my clinician and session type, and that any applicable out-of-pocket costs are my responsibility.
3. Telehealth, Clinical Practices & Technology
Telehealth Delivery
All Therapursuit services are delivered via telehealth, either by phone or video. To participate you will need access to:
• A smartphone, laptop, tablet, or computer with a camera, microphone, and speakers for video sessions
• A reliable internet connection
• A quiet, private space for the duration of your session
You are responsible for the cost of your own internet or data connection. Therapursuit covers the cost of the telehealth platform used to conduct your session.
Privacy & Security
Telehealth services are delivered using internet-based technology, which carries inherent privacy and security risks that are beyond the full control of Therapursuit. All clinicians uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with the APS Code of Ethics and the Privacy Act 1988.
Session Recording
Sessions may be audio or video recorded for clinical purposes including assessment, treatment planning, documentation, supervision, and quality assurance. You have the right to decline or withdraw consent to recording at any time by informing your clinician and doing so will not affect your access to or quality of care.
AI-Assisted Documentation
Therapursuit uses AI-assisted tools to support clinical note-taking, documentation, and administration. These tools operate within secure and compliant environments. No AI system makes clinical decisions on your behalf and all clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of your AHPRA-registered psychologist. These tools are integral to how our clinical team operates and if you do not consent to their use, we may be unable to accommodate your care within our current service model. In that case, we will assist you in finding an alternative provider where possible.
Your Rights
• You may ask questions about any aspect of your assessment or therapy at any time
• You may refuse any assessment or treatment at any time without prejudice
• You may withdraw from psychological services at any time without penalty to your ongoing care rights
• Engagement is always voluntary
I understand and consent to telehealth delivery and its associated privacy considerations, session recording where applicable, and the use of AI-assisted documentation tools as described above.
Your consent is ongoing and you may ask questions or raise concerns at any time by contacting us at [email protected] or by speaking directly with your clinician. You may withdraw consent to session recording at any time without it affecting your care. Please be aware that the collection and storage of personal and clinical information is a legal requirement of providing psychology services in Australia and if this consent is withdrawn, we may be unable to continue providing services to you.
